Francis Hinson

I'm an award-winning entrepreneur, engineer, and designer who has a passion for building impactful ventures that push humanity forward.

Today, I work at YouTube, where I lead partner engineering efforts for Universal Music Group, empowering the label to successfully deliver millions of musical content on the YouTube Music platform.

Prior to this, I helped launch Reader Revenue Manager at Google, led engineering at governement-technology startup Elucd, and worked on Machine Learning at Twitter.

I began my career in technology serendipitously by taking a leave of absence from college. During that time, I founded Chesscademy, a Y Combinator-backed company that grew to become the world’s largest chess education platform with over 1 million users from 190 countries.

I studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Columbia University and was awarded the Theodore R. Bashkow Award for excellence in Computer Science.
